This standard is applicable to the determination of the non-plastic transformation temperature of ferritic steel (including plates, profiles, cast steel and forged steel).
The non-plastic transition temperature characterizes the highest temperature at which a steel with small cracks will undergo brittle fracture under dynamic loading yield stress. The test method is to raise a hammer with a certain mass to a certain height, and then release it from a static state. The hammer freely falls and impacts the surface of the sample, thereby dynamically loading the sample.
It is mainly suitable for NDT test of ferritic steel and used to determine the non-plastic transformation (NDT) temperature of ferritic steel.
